Where have we been???

OMG I've been away from here since March! Well, Both girls are fine, crazy and as darlin' as ever, tho they're a handful!!! Both are about 50lbs, and go for daily runs with me, and love to race around the yard! We got a baby pool, and Izzy wants nothing to do with it, but Cleo will hop in. I'm really looking forward to taking them to the lake to see what happens. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later.

We've been training with what opportunities present themselves...I really need to make time each day and work individually with them, but things are hectic with summer coming, and graduation, camp and college for kids in the fall. Maybe in September things will be so we can breathe.

I'm a bit concerned how they'll do at the kennel for a bit over a week, but the staff loves them, so I'm sure they'll get
lotsa attention :)

Our moms a slacker...

yep, its been awhile....last vets weigh in Izzy is now 50.1lbs, Cleo is still at 43lbs! From my reading she'll prolly gain only muscle at this point...Izzy on the other hand, well, shes gotta lotta more to go!
Training has been fine, though I could work them more than I do, recall is 50/50, but theyre still little..
heres a darlin vid...

Whats with all the white stuff on the ground??? Wait, there's some comin outta the sky...

...it's SNOW!! Our very first snow, and it was so much fun!! At first it kinda scared us, but then we both realized, it tastes good!!! its cold and crunchy like Ice cubes mommy gives us outta her cup...its kinda slippery, and we tumbled and ran and ran....

wheeeee!

We have a new favorite activity! Mommy has an old bike which she rides(carefully so we don't get runnded over!)around our neighborhood and we run, walk, trot alongside.
Its lotsa fun, and its a great way to get enough xcersize withoug pooping poor mom out! We still pull a lil bit, but thats only 'cause we see a bird or a cat along the way.
Sometimes she rides fast and we get to run hard, which is way fun!

Maybe once mom is sure we won't make her wreck she can take a video of us...we are such camera hogs! BTW, its time for more pics...mom's fav thing now is upsidedown pics...she hopes one will be good 'nuf to submit to upsidedowndogs.com!

She's not so little anymore...

Well, our girls are at 7 mos....Izzy is now 48lbs, Cleo(who's older by 3 weeks) is at 43lbs. Thats 5+, and 3+ from last month!!

Izzy now just bulldozes her sister anytime theyre playing....she is a chunk!!

Our moms a slacker, but we're so good anyway...

Just imagine how good we'd be if she actually dedicated time training us every day...but then again, she's always telling us to 'do' something!

We are working on always sitting when she puts on our leashes--which is hard since we're so xcited to go somewhere!!--and when we're walking she says 'stop' and then we can't go anywhere until we sit for a few seconds...
Theyre getting so big...we gotta weigh them in another week or so for our advantadge multi...
Yes my girls are doing great....I still have to leash them when they go potty, but outside play is better, they dont start to run off, when they head off that direction I call and they circle around back. Izzy is more of a challenge--it must be the hardheaded-ness that she gets, um well from both dalmatian and Lab sides.
I really need to dedicate time separately, and work Izzy's recall...oh and nights they aren't chewing up the bed anymore....thats good, plus I put the top on their 'pen' so they cant move all over the room.

Housetraining is pretty much a done deal, save Cleo's 'nervous-pee :0 when shes gotta go even just a bit, and someone gets her all worked up...ugh...but I've been trying to anticipate ppl arriving, and keeping tabs on when they drink...
On a side note, the pinch collars I got are amazing...they make walking and working with them much more manageable. :)

Cold & windy doesn't stop us!!!

It might be in the upper 30's here in the allegedly warm sunny south, but that doesn't stop these girls from playing hard! Cleo & Izzy played hard for 45minutes twice yesterday! Then they ate a total of 7cups of puppy chow each for berakfast and dinner! Thats a lot of fertilizer for the yard!

Oh....Izzy's got a new nickname...

Dumplin' ;)

*snores*

Thank goodness its dried out today! Its still cold--windy in the 40's--but we took a long walk and after some recall training, we played in the yard. I love to see them run all out!

Got the pinch collars(blunt ended), and a 30' trainer lead, and what a difference! The collars make walking much easier-for all three of us, but I'll still have to directional change to keep them guessing and paying attention!

I've got two very sleepy pups now(phew!), so its time to go get a few things done around here...

Finally...

Yeay, stitches are out, and Cleo is 40lbs, Izzy 43lbs! They're getting so big!

I'm stuck inside today(rainy and foggy--blech!) so we'll train a good bit, and I'm seriously considering getting a pinch collar for both girls. Reading lots of info on the lead pulling issue is making me lean that way.

Supposed to dry out tomorrow, maybe we'll get in a short walk today? who knows!

*shivers*

Its verry cold out today, getting colder tomorrow....our walk this morning was a bit longer, and they don't seem any worse for the wear! Hopefully this will make 'em pooped out! Tomorrow's colder with highs in the low 30s....brrrrr!
I've been meaning to post these...

We've got a new ride!

Our mommy just got a new car for us to ride around in! We can't get in until she gets a cargo barrier for us tho--she wants us to stay safe in the back!

I think these girls are going stir crazy! Tomorrow will be a week since their surgery, so I'm hoping I can get them outside to play soon....I'll havta check with their vet since they run and play HARD, and I dont want them to hurt each other!

Not so great on the accidents inside, tho I think thats a function of having to stay inside and quiet so much! I am concerned that Izzy seems to have a lumpy area around her incision from her spay, so I'll check that!

I promise pics soon!

owies

We had our surgeries on Friday, and mom & dad have been keeping us as quiet as they can...we're going bonkers! Must....Run....Play.....jump!!!

All fixed, and iz had her dew claws out...poor baby-shes got a lampshade thingy and dad has taken to calling her 'moonbeam'--its what came to mind when we saw her like that. Fortunately she doesn't chew her feet so I don't have to keep it on unless its bed time.

Today we'll do a short walk. Its verry cold here, getting colder by week's end.

I've gotta get back to regular training-outside of the everyday opportunities I use--
And pics I've got to take some!

New Year, New tricks!

Well, sorta...

Girls are gettin to be big-uns! Iz was 39lbs, Cleo 37lbs at the end of December. Surely now over 40!

Friday is the big day...gettin fixed, Izzy gets dew claws removed.

We've been cooped up inside for a while--rain and ick. Today is sunny, but windy and cold! Got our walk in earlier, and the babies are now dozing...guess I better get up and get some stuff done!

Holidays are over so its back to regular 3-4x/week training sessions, in and outside, together and separate. Walking on the leash is getting better, but turning around every pull makes our walks take a loooong time!

Pics and stuff soon!
